Christopher Wood Interview

Interview: Christopher Wood is England's foremost writer and broadcaster on Victorian art. He has written 21 books including The Dictionary of Victorian Painters, The Pre-Raphaelites, Burne-Jones: The Life and Works of Sir Edward Burne-Jones (1833-1898), The Great Art Boom, 1970-1997, Tissot, Olympian Dreamers: Victorian Classical Painters 1860-1914, and Victorian Painting. He was the director of nineteenth-century paintings at Christie's in London, and has operated the Christopher Wood Gallery in London for many years.

Christopher recently completed a new book on 19th century painter William Powell Frith entitled William Powell Frith: A Painter and His World which will be released later on this month by Sutton Publishing.

Christopher's upcoming sale will be on February 28, 2007 at Christie's in London

The book Christopher mentioned regarding the prices for paintings sold at auction was The Economics of Taste by Gerald Reitlinger
